They are looking down at us as if we are “criminals, drug dealers, and rapists” or should I say worthless.
Is that all you see of us?
Do you not see the good in us?
Are you oblivious to us trying to makes a change for the better?
You are hurting us.
Yes, we have feelings just like you do. A group of people cannot define us all.
Your words hurt us and your actions horrify us tremendously.
Why are you doing this to us?
We beg you to not take our family from us!
Why is it that you are taking our jobs?
I swear we were only trying to keep our families healthy and safe. It just will not be the same without our uncles, aunties, grandparents, parents and siblings you have taken away. We cannot visit our homeland without being able to return. You would not like that, why do it to us then?
Let us prove our strengths. Let us prove to you that not all
Hispanics are rapists,
not all Blacks are thugs
and not all Muslims are terrorists.
Just like not Americans are successful.
Let us show you that our race and gender does not determine who we are.
Let us achieve our dreams just like you want for you and your family.
Don’t be selfish…
I promise we are not all what you think.
